Our Story: A personal journey to Gut-Brain Health
Sorridi Therapeutics was founded by Beth Statkus with a clear mission - to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) through targeted nutrition. A food scientist herself, she enlisted her father John Presutti, a pharmaceutical executive, to bring this idea to market.
Their journey began when a loved one was diagnosed with PD. Beyond the well-known motor symptoms, they witnessed gut health struggles—chronic constipation, digestive discomfort, urinary tract issues and an overall decline in well-being. Despite medical treatments, these issues persisted, making it clear that something was missing.
Beth and John would like to extend their gratitude to the very special Movers & Shakers in Evanston, IL.
“Their dedication, invaluable feedback, and participation in our clinical trials have been instrumental in bringing this product to life. These bars were created by them and for them. Thank you to all who participated for being an essential part of this journey!” - Beth Statkus
The Gut-Brain Connection: A Missing Link in PD Care
Through research, Beth and John discovered a critical, often overlooked factor: the gut-brain axis. Recent studies have shown that gut health plays a crucial role in neurological diseases, yet many PD patients lack adequate fiber and key nutrients to support a healthy digestive system. They realized that poor gut health wasn’t just a side effect of PD—it was a contributing factor to overall decline.
A Science-Backed Solution: NeuroFiber
Determined to fill this gap, they developed NeuroFiber, a specialized formula designed to support digestion, microbiome diversity, and overall gut-brain health. Unlike other common fiber supplements, NeuroFiber is made from 14 diverse prebiotic and whole food sources of fiber, offering a comprehensive, plant based approach to gut health.
At Sorridi Therapeutics, Beth and John are committed to empowering PD patients with the right nutrition—not just to improve digestion, but to enhance overall well-being.
